Expanding Horizons Technology Center
Monday through Wednesday nights from 7-8:00 p.m., facilitated lab time for children. Volunteers, please commit to one night per week.
Thursday evenings from 7-8p.m. and Saturday mornings, 9:30-11:00, facilitated lab time for adults to work on computer skills, resumes, job-searching. Volunteers, please commit to one time per month.
Homework Help
Monday through Thursday nights, 5-6:30 p.m. at Hagar's House. Please commit to one night per week.
Child Care
Monday through Thursday nights, 7-8:30 p.m. at Hagar's House. Please commit to one night per week.
Saturday mornings year-round, for moms working in the Tech Center. One to two Saturdays per month, 9:30-11a.m.
Dinner
Entire meal from beginning to end, for either a group of 4-6 people per night, including planning menu, shopping, preparing, serving, and clean-up.
Lead Volunteer for Hagar's House
Serve as a resource volunteer 1-2 shifts per month (5:45-8 p.m. 7 nights per week). Help in many ways with guests getting settled in, dinner volunteers setting up, and more. At least six month commitment, please, due to extensive training.
Overnight Host
From having dinner with guests at 6:30 p.m. to serving breakfast the next morning. Singles over 21, couples, small families (limited sleeping space) all welcome.
Office Assistance (2-4 hour shifts)
DCM's administrative office seeks volunteers to help with telephones, sorting and putting away donations, occasional mailings and document preparation. 9-5 Mon, Thurs, Friday.
Project Take Charge seeks volunteers to help with food pantry, client intake. 9-1 Monday through Thursday.
Financial Management facilitators
Three-session class taught twice per month to clients at Project Take Charge. Longer-term commitment, please, due to extensive training.
Repairs and Maintenance Assistance
Weekdays and intermittent weekends, help with small repair jobs around office or housing locations.
Weekday Volunteers with a truck
Intermittent need for help moving furniture or other large donations.
We ask all volunteers to attend DCM 101, our volunteer orientation.
