International Justice Mission (IJM)

More about IJM

All Souls also supports International Justice Mission.  IJM is the largest anti-slavery organization in the world with a plan to eliminate the slave trade everywhere. At an estimated 40 million+, there are more slaves today than ever before in human history. Millions of children and adults are beaten, raped and starved as slaves in homes, brothels, boats and factories.

IJM staff are Christians who are motivated by the Bible’s call to “seek justice, rescue the oppressed, defend the orphan, plead for the widow” (Isaiah 1:17). They’ve rescued more than 49,000 people from slavery and other forms of oppression, and helped local authorities arrest 3,800 suspected slave owners and other criminals. IJM is helping justice systems to protect more than 150 million vulnerable people.

Slavery is a multibillion-dollar industry, but as laws are enforced, the business model of slavery becomes unprofitable for slave owners. IJM also protects the poor against brutal violence in the developing world, including land theft, sex trafficking, police abuse of power, citizenship rights abuse, sexual violence against children, and forced labor slavery.

Christianity Today spotlights the work of one of our global partners

Through your generosity, we are able to partner with IJM’s work, specifically with the field office in Ghana. Their work was recently featured in Christianity Today, in an article called "Breaking Slavery on Lake Volta."
