About Us
Our Church
All Souls Fellowship is a 300+ member church located in Decatur, Georgia right down the road from Avondale Estates and just a few miles east of downtown Atlanta. We’re attached to a building complex called East Decatur Station.
We are a congregation of all ages and backgrounds. Together, we are committing to the journey of faith and the process of becoming like Jesus.
We invite you to join us and hope that you will experience Christ in our services, events, small groups, mission and people.
Our Impact
Each summer we take time to celebrate all that God has done during the Ministry Year (that runs from July to June). We put together stories in a report that we share at our Annual Meeting.
Our Beliefs
We recognize that not everybody is going to agree with our doctrinal positions. We don't expect that. We seek to provide an environment that fosters robust doctrinal and spiritual conversation in which we can "major on the majors and minor on the minors."
However, just as with every other church, we do hold to theological convictions that shape our ministry:
-
1. The Fallen Condition of Humanity (Romans 5:12-19)
2. The Loving Initiative of God In His grace (John 6:37-39, II Thessalonians 2:13-14)
3. The Effective Work of Jesus on the cross (I John 4:10, Romans 5:10, Galatians 3:13)
4. The Ministry of the Holy Spirit (John 6:44-45, Philippians 2:13)
5. The Promise of the Gospel (Philippians 1:6)
-
By “catholic” we are referring to the original meaning of the term, which is “according to the whole” or “universal.” In other words, we count ourselves as part of God’s “holy, catholic and apostolic Church” and hold to those basic teachings—the Trinity, Incarnation, Atonement, Resurrection—which have been believed by all Christians throughout history that have proclaimed historic Christianity. These teachings have been confessed in the ecumenical creeds of the early church such as the Apostles’ Creed and the Nicene Creeds.
Our church falls under the Protestant category of Christianity. We are members of the Evangelical Presbyterian Church (EPC) denomination.
-
By “apostolic,” we are referring to those doctrines taught by the Apostles in the Scriptures and so forcefully reclaimed in the Reformation of the 16th century. Specifically, we believe that the Scriptures are without error, completely trustworthy and the ultimate authority for our beliefs and our lifestyles.
We believe that salvation is only by God’s grace and is received solely by faith in Christ. We believe in the historicity of the biblical miracles, of the virgin birth, and in the reality of Christ’s return.
Our Mission
We know God calls us to love Him with all of our hearts and our neighbor as ourselves, but how does He want to use us specifically in this time and place?
After a year-long process of praying and examining the unique gifts of our members as well as the community around us, we believe our church is specifically called to “practice the way of Jesus for the renewal of all things.”

How is the mission of God accomplished through All Souls?
Gather [Be with Jesus]
We gather regularly for worship and teaching.
Build [Become like Jesus]
We talk about and encourage spiritual practices, and we create opportunities to build and grow community.
Send [Be the presence of Jesus in the world]
We continually look for how God is calling us to serve each other, our community, and our world. As a congregation, we look for ways to humbly serve our local and global partners.

What characterizes our community?
Rooted in Scripture
We believe the Bible is the true story of God’s grace and seek to live humbly and responsively within that story.
Rooted in Community
We strive to be real and open about our need for Jesus and each other.
Rooted in Practice
We are committed to the journey of faith and the process of becoming like Jesus.
Rooted in Hope
We anchor our confidence in the promise that Jesus is the last word on everything.

As we practice the way of Jesus together, we long to be:
• A community of Grace in a Culture of Judgement.
• A community of Rest in a Culture of Exhaustion.
•. A community of Engagement in a Culture of Distraction.
•. A community of Contribution in a Culture of Consumption.
• A community of Reconciliation in a Culture of Division.
Our Stories
As we practice the way of Jesus for the renewal of all things, we see God working in our midst. Check out these videos to learn how God is shaping our congregation into a community of grace, rest, engagement, contribution, and reconciliation.
