Hospitality Safety Accessibility

We're launching a campaign to raise $750,000 in pledges by September 28, 2025.

This fall, we’re launching a capital campaign—Creating Space to Belong. After compiling survey responses, the Session believes we now have clear plans and priorities to move forward.

Over the years, we’ve modestly approached facility upgrades, prioritizing financial resources for ministry and mission. However, with New Street’s ongoing development and increasing traffic, we believe it's time to reinvest in our building’s long-term health and hospitality.

We long to be a community for our community, and these improvements will help us increase hospitality, safety, and accessibility for years to come. God has entrusted us with a beautiful space in a growing part of our city. Each of these projects reflects our longstanding commitment to reflect God’s heart for welcoming others.

This is more than a renovation—it’s the continuation of the story God is telling through All Souls: a story of faithfulness, generosity, and hope.

Hospitality

  • The improved streetscape and directional signage will create a more inviting “front door” to All Souls.

  • Creation of a downstairs reception area to create a welcoming space for kids and families.

  • Renovation of the kitchen and coffee bar will allow for more ministry opportunities, better foot-traffic flow in the lobby, and more space for fellowship and connection.

  • Replacement of aging HVAC Units will ensure a welcoming environment for years to come.

Safety

  • With the addition of over 300 residential units and a planned Grocery Store on New Street, the installation of a pedestrian walkway will provide access to the building from the parking lot, free from the increased traffic on New Street.

Accessibility

  • The addition of an elevator unit from the first to the second floor will provide full accessibility to the building for individuals with mobility needs.

I hope this campaign will offer newer members a sense of connection and investment in the physical plant of All Souls and that future generations will be able to share what God has done in the life of our church.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • The $750,000 goal was established after careful evaluation by staff, the capital campaign committee, the session, and based on feedback from the congregational survey. We gathered preliminary estimates from a range of contractors. As the architectural drawings are not finalized, additional contingency funds have also been included.

  • Should we collect more than our fundraising target, surplus funds will be transferred to our general fund. The session will thoughtfully and prayerfully consider how these funds might be used, which could include providing additional support for our ministry programs or mission partners.

  • If total pledges and contributions do not reach the goal, we have prioritized project elements according to survey feedback, the assessed needs of our community, and the sequence in which work can be done. This approach ensures the most vital components are addressed first. The priority is as follows: Sidewalk / street scape, lower lobby entrance, HVAC replacement, interior renovations, elevator installation.

  • We continue to trust that God will provide for the church’s ministry needs. It is important for everyone participating in the campaign to view their contributions and pledges as above and beyond their regular giving.

  • No—the offerings received will remain dedicated to ongoing ministry programs and church operating expenses.

  • Kickstart gifts allow us to begin work promptly on the exterior sidewalk and the new lower lobby once the contractor has secured the necessary permits. These improvements are critical for safe entry to our building. We have flexibility to begin other parts of the project as additional funds are received over time.

  • The exterior portion of the project has already undergone an initial review by the city, and we are reasonably confident it will be approved. No concerns have arisen regarding permits for the interior portion of the project.

  • For any additional questions, or to learn more about the capital campaign, please reach out to the church office or a member of the capital committee.

I believe that each part of the vision is important to our mission; we should better welcome our neighbors, provide a safer car-free access to worship, and accommodate all physically challenged persons whether young or old.
