Engaging Together in Emotional Health

In the Spring, All Souls Member, Taylor Irby, lead 7 Moms through the Connected Families’ Grace & Truth for Moms curriculum. They spent 4 weeks together intentionally applying the Gospel deeply to their relationships with their children and themselves.

Grace and Truth for Moms Course

7 Moms Participated in the Connected Families’ Grace & Truth for Moms course.

I think this class was helpful for moms in our congregation. I felt the curriculum offered wise counsel from older moms to younger moms in raising children and combatting negative thought patterns.

Engaging Together in Solitude

Evening Apart

Marlayne Whitlock and JourneyMates Atlanta hosted two Evening Aparts for our congregation. These evenings provided quiet, uncluttered space for silence and reflection as well as lectio divina and prayer.

Engaging Together as Young Adults

Young Adults Ministry

This past year, a few All Souls members and attenders launched a Young Adults Group. They met bi-weekly for fellowship, snacks, games, discussion, and prayer. They studied Bonhoeffer’s Life Together.

Engaging Together as Men

Over the past year, our Men’s Ministry hosted breakfast events focused on formation and continued their discussion on the relationship of faith and work. Special thanks to Three Taverns Brewery for hosting.

Men’s Breakfasts

8 Men’s Breakfasts were hosted by the Men’s Ministry this year.

  • Walking with Mary by Dr. Edward Sri

  • Fasting: Spiritual Freedom Beyond Our Appetites by Lynn Baab

  • Wondrous Encounters: Scripture for Lent by Richard Rohr

  • Turning of Days (Spring Section) by Hannah Anderson

Women’s Book Discussions

25 Women attended a book study.

Women’s Advent Gather

In the midst of the busy holiday season, the Women’s Ministry hosted an Advent Gather planned by Carrie Wheeler, Marlayne Whitlock, and Krista Gilliam. The evening focused on being present through engaging one’s five senses.

EvenPsalm

Led by Tara Koski, the Women’s Ministry started hosting monthly gatherings providing time in Scripture, prayer, and small group sharing.

At this time in my life, I have a deep desire and need for a space of quiet contemplation and prayer. EvenPsalm will provide a time of stillness before God and with other women of All Souls.
— Tara Koski
