Prayers of the People
Prayers of the People is a specific time in our Sunday morning liturgy where we come before God the Father because of the forgiveness granted to us in Jesus the Son by the power of the Holy Spirit to engage with the Triune God in our everyday life as His people.
Details about the position:
Often at All Souls, the Prayers of the People are extemporaneous, but that does not mean they should be without preparation. You may want to write out your prayer before you get to the lectern and read it word for word until you feel comfortable praying before people.
If you are praying, you arrive 15 minutes before the first service, connect with a pastor or worship leader, sit on front row near the liturgist podium (right side of stage), and approach the podium to pray at the scheduled time in the service. You then stay through the Prayers of the People portion of the second service.
Volunteers can serve as little as 1 Sunday a month (but both services are required).
