Ministry to Children
We believe that children are a heritage from the Lord (Psalm 127:3). As Christ-centered believers, we are led by the Holy Spirit to teach our children the Scriptures from both the Old and New Testaments–with all stories from the Bible pointing to Jesus. We are commanded to disciple our children to love the Lord God with all their heart, soul, and might (Deuteronomy 6:5), and to love their neighbors as they would love themselves (Mark 12:30-31).
We also believe that when the church partners with parents, resourcing them to be their child’s primary discipler, the effects won’t just change a child or a home, but it will also change a community through that child–and through that child, ultimately the world.
Our Vision and Goal
With God’s help, we will diligently disciple children at every developmental stage to help them know and believe that Jesus loves them, desiring to help them love Him back and one day grow to love others as written in Mark 12:30-31. Our hope is that they will grow in their faith and grow in confidence to share the gospel of Jesus.
To accomplish this, we will disciple children at each developmental stage to know and believe:
“Jesus loves me!” (Nursery-aged)
“Jesus loves me, and I can love Him back!” (Preschool-aged)
“Jesus loves me, I love Him back, and I can love others too!” (Elementary-aged)
Our goal is to align both our volunteer leaders and our parents to lead with the same end in mind: for our children to love God and obey His commandments and love their neighbor as themselves.
Our Strategy
We attempt to achieve our vision and goals by:
Being intentional and Christ-centered in the curriculum we use for Sunday School and any other kids’ programing we organize.
Providing resources and classes for parents to help assist them as their child’s primary Discipler.
Encouraging families to worship together.
Encouraging families to look for opportunities to serve in the church.
Providing opportunities for families to serve together in their community.
Providing opportunities for generations of both younger and older members of the church to bridge together and build lifelong relationships.
Sunday Mornings
For newborns to 24 months (before September 1st birthday), childcare is available at the beginning of both Sunday morning worship services in our nursery upstairs.
For 2 years-old to 5th grade, we have Sunday School during both of our Sunday services. Children worship with their parents during the first part of the service and then join their classes downstairs during the break following the Passing of the Peace.
