Exploring a Practical Theology of Stress

The American Psychological Association’s Stress in America survey recently found that Americans are more stressed than ever and 35% of adults under the age of 65 report being so stressed they can’t function. For many of us, these statistics are easily believable and relatable (“really, only 35%?”).

With an emphasis on practical application, this series of presentations and discussions will consider several questions such as: What is stress and where does it come from? As a follower of Jesus, how stressed should I be if God is in control and my eternity is sealed? How does my faith help me deal with stressors more effectively?

Facilitated by Jeff Ashby, Professor of Counseling Psychology and Co-Director of the Matheny Center for the Study of Stress, Trauma, and Resilience – Georgia State University
