Ricky Busby | Ruling Elder

HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN AT ALL SOULS?

I have been attending All Souls since 2007 when my wife, Esta, and I moved to Decatur.

WHY DID YOU WANT TO SERVE AS AN ELDER? HOW DID YOU EXPERIENCE GOD CALLING YOU TO THIS OFFICE?

I saw God transforming our community through All Souls, and I wanted to actively support the church on its journey. From working with the youth group and VBS to leading community groups and the deacons, I have been fortunate to participate in or support many of the different ministries at All Souls and wanted to utilize those experiences to help lead and encourage the church.

WHAT OTHER WAYS HAVE YOU SERVED AT ALL SOULS?

I have served in multiple roles, including liturgist, community group leader, VBS, and most recently as a deacon.

HOW HAS GOD USED ALL SOULS IN YOUR LIFE?

God has taught me the importance of relationships and community. When our twin girls were born, we were excited but also overwhelmed. The church community was so supportive and helpful throughout the first few months. We were greatly encouraged by our experience of God’s grace and have sought to help other families in the same way.
