Hello, All Souls Family!

This is Marilyn Berberich on behalf of Prayer Matters–our online Thursday evening gathering. Thanks for listening and considering WHY Prayer Matters exactly.

Over my life, God planted many influences that compel me to keep on praying. I invite (actually URGE) you to watch/listen to a decades old sermon. God’s Word is always relevant to us, and the Holy Spirit has used this message as a vivid call to prayer. 

The message was presented by Jim Cymbala, who is the founding pastor of Brooklyn Tabernacle in New York City. He and his wife Carol, music composer and director of their Grammy winning choir, began their ministry when things were very rough. The setting for this sermon was a Bill Gaither Homecoming gathering. Bill Gaither and his wife developed a wide Christian music ministry with a Vocal Band at its core. They invited (a much younger then) Pastor Jim Cymbala to be their speaker, and the message was recorded.

God wants us to come before Him and pray. He loves to hear from us! As Pastor Lance has said before: not only does God love us, He also likes us. He wants to be with us. We serve a living God with unlimited resources! Yes, we praise Him. Yes, we thank Him. Yes, we live out His way in accordance with His Word. But the aroma of All Souls Fellowship needs to be us loving others well AND praying!

Father God, show us each how You’d like us to be involved in prayer together. Continue leading us in Your Way! In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
