I really enjoyed attending the Friends of Refugees Lunch & Learn. It was both insightful and informative, learning about those who have struggled leaving their homeland. Reading about a refugee and his journey to get to the United States was very impactful. This reinforced my desire to volunteer and try to help in some small way. Since that Lunch & Learn, I have been volunteering to help individuals to create resumes and provide assistance for the job interview process. I have found this to be rewarding, challenging, at times frustrating (that I can’t do more), and humbling.
