As We Forgive Our Debtors

Over Fall 2025, our church will be journeying through a five-week study together, As We Forgive Our Debtors.

Forgiving someone in any meaningful way is one of the hardest things a person can do. It requires something deeper than willpower or politeness. It asks something of the soul. And perhaps this is why, of all the petitions in the Lord’s Prayer, there’s only one that Jesus circles back to, underscoring its gravity with stark clarity:

“For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive others their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.”

Over the next five weeks, we will reflect on this gift—God’s forgiveness—and how it not only frees us, but also forms us into people who can extend that same grace to others. This is the way into the life Jesus came to give.
